At Muffyn’s Specialized Healthcare Services (MSHS), our commitment to supporting families caring for loved ones with disabilities is deeply personal. This initiative is offered in loving memory of Jamal Davis-Brooks, whose life and journey helped our organization understand firsthand the profound need for compassionate, reliable respite care.
While Jamal’s family was blessed to have access to some resources and support, we recognize that many families in our community are not afforded the same opportunities. Through that lived experience, MSHS was inspired to expand our mission to ensure that families caring for children and adults with disabilities have access to safe, supportive respite and childcare services when they need it most.

At Muffyn’s Specialized Healthcare Services (MSHS), we understand the challenges of caring for loved ones with disabilities or special needs. Our respite care program provides short-term relief for family caregivers supporting children, youth, and adults with disabilities or complex health needs. These services, including after-school support and adult day care options, provide essential assistance to families across Baltimore City and surrounding communities.

Caring for a loved one with special needs can be both rewarding and deeply demanding—physically, emotionally, and financially. Respite care provides temporary relief that allows caregivers to rest, attend to work responsibilities, manage personal needs, and maintain their overall well-being.
